We saw that the English word alphabet comes from the Hebrew letters Alef and Bet. Sometimes people write Alef as Aleph, because both ph and f are used to transcribe the Hebrew letter Pe. Bet also is sometimes written Beth. This means that the Hebrew Alphabet is often written Aleph Bet or Alef Bet, or sometimes Aleph Beth or Alef Beth. Aleph Bet and Alef Bet are the most popular spellings. For consistency and simplicity, this web site uses Hebrew Alphabet, rather than the Aleph Bet or Alef Bet. However, you will see Aleph Bet and Alef Bet all over the Internet, on Hebrew books and products, and everywhere else. There is no single correct term, and both Aleph Bet and Alef Bet are good if you prefer them.
